Wirral Connect (formally Wirral CVS) was founded and registered as charity in 1991.

The core aim of the organisation was to support the development and growth of Wirral's community sector. Over the years the organisation delivered a number of projects many of which supported people to become volunteers, for a long period it was the leading accredited volunteer centre on Wirral.

As time passed, the organisation started developing great expertise in mentoring and supporting individuals through one to one support programmes.

For eight years the organisation delivered a very successful project in supporting individuals in drug and alcohol recovery through peer mentoring. From this model we have developed our expertise further and now work with a number of different groups as we believe that mentoring is a very effective method in supporting people on a practical basis in the local community. By working individually with people and designing the support package around them we find is the best way to success.

Wirral Connect is all about partnerships, connecting people to the services they need and connecting organisations together so they can better support the Wirral community.

Wirral Connect supports third sector organisations and disadvantaged Wirral groups through bringing people / organisations and sectors together. The organisational ethos is based around peer mentoring and bringing communities together to solve needs based issues.

At present the organisation is currently delivering targeted services to unpaid carers / former carers, women affected by domestic abuse and individuals bereaved by suicide. Alongside front line projects Wirral Connect also delivers a range of services to support local third sector organisations to grow and most importantly work together in supporting the local community.

The key to organisational objectives is Connecting People / Connecting Organisations / Connecting sectors to support the Wirral community.

We are committed and passionate about supporting those who support others.  By taking the time to BE with someone, to listen to their story, we are able to CONNECT!
